Industrial Revolution
I chose my topic because I already knew about it and I thought it was a great choice. I researched
by asking questions, looking on the internet, going to the library, and using
the research center on the library website. I chose to create a website because
technology interests me and maybe learn something other than what I knew already.
Most people in the early 1700’s were farmers. Most of the things
that people used were made by hand. It took a long time to do things or make
items that people needed. In the 1800s, this slowly began to change. This change
was called the Industrial Revolution. The Industrial Revolution was a turning
point in history. Industrialization started in England, the most successful industry at that time was the textile mills. Some machines could do the work of 50 people!
The English were always experimenting on new ways to make things
easier, like growing crops and transportation of goods. The bad part of
Industrialization is that working in factories shortened the lifespan of an
average Englishman, and children were forced to work 14 hours a day 7 days a
week with very little pay. The Industrial Revolution made a great impact on our
world today.
